Coach Ken

Welcome to Uptown Hoops NYC!

UHNYC is compromised of an Upper West Side father-son coaching team: Coach Ken + Coach Nate.

Coach Ken grew up in Yorkville on the east side of Manhattan. He played basketball under the guidance of the Bronx’s legendary basketball coach, Johnny Mathis. He has been coaching special needs players for 24 years and has no plans of stopping anytime soon.

Coach Nate was born and raised on the Upper West Side. He has been playing basketball his whole life. As a former basketball player at Booker T. Washington Middle School and then captain of the basketball team at the High School for Math, Science, & Engineering at City College, Nate led his team to the playoffs for the first time in the school’s history. He hasn't stopped the groove and continues to also work one-on-one with players of all ages.

Together, Coach Ken and Coach Nate are both motivated to help every player - no matter their skill level or ability - reach their potential and, most importantly, have fun playing the sport that they love.

They look forward to seeing you on the court.

Coach Nate
